A Beginner’s Guide to Motorcycle Helmets
You have got a good bike, a jacket and sun glasses and you think that you are ready to hit the road hard. Think again! There are some safety gears which you should take into account before going on the road. When you are on a road and riding bike with a speed of 80mph, you should surely need something to protect you except you jacket and gloves.
The answer to your security lies in wearing a helmet. Helmet is the most important safety gear for biker. If you are a beginner then the use of helmet becomes more vital for you as there are chances of you falling down several times during your ride.
Getting a helmet should be your first priority and I would recommend you to wear full face helmet in start. You can also wear half faced or open faced helmet but wearing a full faced helmet will protect your whole skin and skull.
There are lots of helmets available in the market with different features in them but you should not compromise on the quality of a helmet. You can buy a helmet in 20$ (non-branded) while you can buy that same branded helmet in 200$. So it is up to you which one you will buy. Don’t know about you, but I will definitely go for 200$ branded one. If you think that you brain and face worth 200$, you would also go for the later one.
Never ever buy a used helmet. There are very few chances that you get a good deal. You don’t know the history of that helmet, it may involve in a crash or accident. Moreover you also don’t want your helmet to look old so it is highly recommended that you buy a new one for you.
Never think about the high price of a helmet as far as it is protecting you from safety. You go to a store and suddenly you see a helmet and you are in love with that. But the price of the helmet is very high and you cannot afford it. Don’t worry search online the cheap version of that model and enjoy.
There is famous quote about the riders, “There are two types of bike riders, those who have their first crash/accident and those who are going to have their first accident.” If you belong to the first category, then forget what happened to you in the last accident and try not to face another one. However if you belong to the second category, then you can avoid from that accident which is imminent.
It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or expert rider; you surely need helmet for your safety. If you think that your life is priceless then it will not be difficult for you to convince yourself for buying the helmet. Final choice is only yours, no one will force you to buy helmet for you.
The purpose of this guideline is to just make you realize the importance of helmet and to give you the direction in buying the right helmet for you. I hope that after reading this guideline you will be able to buy the right one for you.
